Joe,
I appreciate the link regarding the attack on the Coptic Orthodox Church in Libya. I had my heart broken for the second time today with this one:

Why does the persecution of Christians accelerate after a NATO operation? It is getting so it not a coincidence to make this connection, including Bosnia, Croatia, Kosovo, Iraq, Egypt, Libya and the current destabilization target, Syria. Meanwhile, Christians are content to blame Muslims and not the much greater and more powerful villain, that is, the mightiest military in all of human history. Potential countries for democratic transition need much more than democracy by a gun barrel. They need everything that goes with it, education, police, a fair judicial system, a good constitution, good leadership and especially, the consent of the people. Destabilizing countries that do not already have those things does more harm than good. It destroys the measure of peace that did exist between diverse populations. It releases anarchy and puts the control in the hands of the majority at the expense of the minority. Once indigenous Christian minority populations are destroyed or exported across the world to new lands, their cultural presence in their homeland is gone as well. In the Chicago area, we helped receive thousands of refugees from Yugoslavia. We know from their faces and eyes how broken their hearts are. Yet the persecution of Christians isn’t over. When attacks are made on Christians in the Middle East, they are Christians who have the longest historical presence in these lands, a land holy to us. Their safety and the longevity of their communities should be guaranteed by the free world. Yet it is not so. One has to wonder why?
