We are told in the Epistle to the Hebrews that we are surrounded by “a great cloud of witnesses.”
That “cloud of witnesses” consists of real people, with names, dates, and stories. Unless we know the names and the stories (how many martyrs’ stories can you relate?) that cloud of witness is effectively more like a fog! Our 2013 Calendar will help you get to know members of the Body of Christ who in their lives reflect the saving Grace of Our Lord and Savior.

That’s right, our 2013 Calendar of the Christian Year is a 13-month calendar, beginning with Advent, so it includes December 2012, which opened with commemorations of the prophets Nahum, Habakkuk, and Zephaniah (Dec. 1-3).
I spent two years researching and revising this unique and historically informative calendar. It lists not only the Old Testament saints and ancient feasts of Israel, but also the New Testament saints and the Feast of Our Lord that fulfill the Old Covenant. In addition, I carefully compared calendars of the Western and Eastern churches and have listed all saints and martyrs that are shared and commemorated on the same date each year. There are, all told, more than a thousand entries of biblical saints, feasts, and commemorations.
This is my contribution to Christian unity to show how much we have in common in our biblical heritage and in the saints. If studied, over time the Calendar will inform and, I hope, encourage you in your Christian Faith.
May God bless you richly this Advent and Christmas, and in the new year, A. D. 2013.
