From the Editor Emeritus by James M. Kushiner

From the Editor Emeritus

J. Douglas Johnson is now the Executive Editor of Touchstone. Readers will have already enjoyed some of Doug's writing ("Braking Badly: On Conservatism's Partnership with Godless Liberalism," July/August 2021) and his delightful feature, "Letters of the St. Nicholas League" (November/December 2021). I've had the pleasure of working with Doug on staff since April 2018, and I am confident that the journal is in good hands.

I also want to thank the senior editors for their guidance and contributions, and all who supported Touchstone during my tenure as executive editor. Truly, publishing Touchstone has been for me an undeserved privilege.

I look forward now to editing new Touchstone anthologies and working with Doug on the annual Touchstone conference. Speaking of which, our next conference is "Something Wicked This Way Comes: Diabolical Fantasies & the Mysteries of the Real." Come join us, October 13–15, 2022, in Deerfield, Illinois. I hope to see you there.

James M. Kushiner is the Director of Publications for The Fellowship of St. James and the former Executive Editor of Touchstone.

"There are magazines worth reading but few worth saving . . . Touchstone is just such a magazine."
—Alice von Hildebrand

"Here we do not concede one square millimeter of territory to falsehood, folly, contemporary sentimentality, or fashion. We speak the truth, and let God be our judge. . . . Touchstone is the one committedly Christian conservative journal."
—Anthony Esolen, Touchstone senior editor
